We go through periods of time when it is considered cool to hate corporate America. Sometimes it is in style, sometimes it’s not, it all depends on whatever happens to be trending at the time. For the longest time, hanging out at Starbucks was the “in” thing, and then one day, it wasn’t. In fact, Starbucks became the place NOT to be. It was during this period of time that locally-owned coffee shops with their free WiFi are where hipsters gathered. Of course, we aren’t sure if hipsters ever gathered at Starbucks in the first place. We think Starbucks is where the yuppies first started hanging out. As you know, yuppies are essentially the 1980s and 1990s version of the modern-day hipsters.
Are you confused yet?
Coffee shops, Starbucks included, are places to gather and drink coffee. One should not be judged by the coffee shop they frequent, but by the goodness of their heart. This is one reason not to frequent coffee shops, because you might be harshly judged. There are several other reasons not to visit your local coffee shop and instead enjoy a cup of Coffee made from African coffee beans from Smokin’ Beans.
Quality
Do you really think many coffee shops go out of their way to buy quality coffee beans? It is highly unlikely. The sole purpose of a coffee shop is to make money, which means paying low salaries, minimizing overhead and buying inexpensive coffee beans.
Now, we aren’t saying that all coffee shops use low-quality coffee beans, but you don’t know what they use. When you buy your coffee beans from us, you know just what you are getting. You know you will be brewing an excellent cup of coffee every time.
Dairy Products
You enjoy a splash of milk or cream in your coffee, a lot of people do. When you brew your own coffee at home, you know exactly what milk or cream is going in it. You are a smart shopper and look over ingredients when buying anything that will be consumed. You avoid milk from the big brand companies with added ingredients, preferring to buy local milk produced by grass-fed cows.
Again, coffee shops need to make money to stay open. This means if owners can save a few bucks buying bulk milk from big brand companies, they will.
They Raise Prices
Just when you can justify spending six or seven dollars for a cup of coffee, the coffee shop raises the price to eight dollars. In the short term, it might not seem like a big deal, but if you drink two cups of coffee a day, this adds up to some serious cash you now have to dole out. Bummer, man.
Coffee Shops are Full of Weird People
Coffee shops attract a wide variety of people. Unfortunately, most of them are just plain weird. Sitting at home with a fresh-brewed cup of coffee conversing with an old friend is a far better way to spend an afternoon than at a coffee shop.
Make the most out of your cup of coffee by ordering coffee beans from Smokin’ Beans.
