They’re out there and you know it. But lucky for you, you rarely get a glimpse of them. We are talking about the types of people you come across at the coffee shop. many whom are dreadful people. You rarely run into them because you prefer to buy your unroasted coffee beans from Smokin’ Beans Coffee Co. and brew your own coffee at home. No matter where you are in this country, coffee shops tend to attract the same types of people, here are a few examples of who you are likely to run into should you patronize your local coffee shop.

The Writer

The writer sits in the corner at a table all to himself and he or she can be seen vigorously typing away while taking the occasional sip of coffee. You will probably not be surprised to know that even though the writer has been coming into the same coffee shop for hours a day over the course of several years and still hasn’t had anything published.

The Hipster

The next time you are at the coffee shop, scan the area for a guy with a beard, perhaps a handlebar mustache, who is wearing a plaid shirt. You know he totally has the whole lumber-sexual look happening. This is what is commonly known as a hipster. To be sure though, you must sit down and observe him for a few minutes.

You see, a hipster drinks his coffee black, like his soul and would never poison his coffee with cream or sugar. Oh, and you would never catch him dead in Starbucks. Lastly, do not label him a hipster because hipster guy is in denial that he is a hipster. Hipster.

The Morning Commuter

The morning commuter is already working up a sweat and it’s not even 7 am. This is because he was already late waking up and is late for work. Even though that is the case, they must swing by the coffee shop because they need their caffeine fix before getting to the office.

They stand out in a crowd because they look disheveled, are checking their work email on their phone and always order a double shot.

Couple Having a Terrible First Date

Let’s put this into perspective: If you were to take a first date to a coffee shop and you two hit it off right away, would you still stay there? Of course not, you would be taking to a nice restaurant or out to see a movie or anything but sit there at a boring coffee shop.

But if you don’t hit it off, you two will sit at that coffee shop in an awkward situation dying until the date comes to a long-awaited end.
