Coffee shops are great places to go if you crave entertainment. Now, this entertainment isn’t cheap mind you, coffee shop coffee is a pricey commodity after all. A heck of a lot more expensive than buying unroasted coffee beans and brewing your own at home. Coffee shops are full of amusing people, wait, strike that, coffee shops are full of annoying people.

The Angry Barista

From time to time you are lucky enough to deal with the sweet barista who really enjoys her job. But most of the time, you are greeted with a barista who has lost all interest in coffee and rolls her eyes as you order your pumpkin spice latte with two percent milk. We can’t blame her, really, she does have to deal with the very same annoying people that frequent coffee shops every single day. Having to deal with that will get to anybody eventually.

The First-Timer

You can just feel the tension build as a guy who has never been in a coffee shop steps in for the very first time. He gets in line and squints really hard to read the menu. There is then a collective cringe when he gets to the cashier and asks, “what would you recommend?”

The Spoiled Brat

Mom desperately needs her caramel macchiato, but junior feels compelled to act out his general frustration at having to even be in a coffee shop by screaming at the top of his lungs. That is, until mommy promises him a chocolate-filled donut for his cooperation.

The Seasoned Coffee Snob

There is no doubt you have encountered the seasoned coffee-goer. His drink order starts off innocently enough, a mocha frappuccino perhaps, but then the additions, subtractions and special steps turn it into an order longer than Al Capone’s rap sheet.

Dude on Cell Phone

Then you have the guy who has to conduct his business from his Bluetooth. You know the guy, the one who stares right at you while discussing mergers and acquisitions, falsely lulling you into thinking perhaps he was talking to you.

Angry Customer

There is always a chance you will bump into a person standing in line at the coffee shop who just happens to be a bit cranky. After all, a lack of caffeine is a mood buster. Either that or she is just having a very bad day. It is best if you just mind your own business and move on.

The Camper

This is the guy who can be found at his favorite coffee joint every day at the very same time in the exact same spot. In fact, they named a drink after him.
