El Salvador History
Coffee from El Salvador was historically considered generally dependable but distinguished. Recently, however, El Salvador has experienced a renaissance in the production of gourmet coffees. These recent offerings are marked by medium to high acidity, nutty or chocolaty overtones, and medium /full body. One of the most quickly emerging origins in the world of fine Arabica coffees. The best grade of El Salvador coffee is Strictly High Grown, grown at elevations above 1200 meters (3937 ft.) Most El Salvador coffee is grown in various degrees of shade.
